Simple Cleanliness Habits for Kids PT. 2
In my last post I started sharing the simple habits that we teach our kids to help keep our home clean! Here are a few more things that we do:
—
4. Clear their dishes after eating and put them in the dishwasher.
This only take each child a few seconds and it helps keep The table and the kitchen counters clean!
5. Wash their hands and face after each meal.
I mean what child doesn’t love running water??
6. Keep all food items in either the kitchen or dining room.
The only exception to this rule is popcorn while watching movies. It is just too big of a temptation, and the crumbs get everywhere!
7. Put their dirty clothes in the laundry.
As opposed to, of course on the floor. Floors are meant for walking on, not your dirty laundry!
8. Clean up their toys when they are finished playing.
When kids are young, their biggest messes will probably be toys, but as they get older, there will always be things that need cleanup organized. If they learn to clean up now, it’ll be so much easier to adjust to other bigger messes when they are older.
9. If your kids are finished with something that they want to keep they must find a place for it.
If they are finished with something that they don’t want to keep (an old band-aid etc?) they need to throw it away.

Why do these habits matter? Because they all add up to a naturally tidier home. Of course you’ll still have to clean, but it shouldn’t be nearly as overwhelming!
